What Moved Capital Markets in Q2 2026?
On Tuesday, 7 July 2026, at 10:00 a.m., the third webinar of this year, “Capital Market Developments in Q2”, took place.At the beginning, we gave a brief overview of trading activity on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange in Q2, looked at the most traded shares, and reviewed the returns of Prime Market shares. We also examined the performance of the SBITOP and SBITOP TR indices.
We then discussed the key events that shaped global capital markets in the second quarter. The main topics included geopolitical developments in the Middle East and their impact on financial markets, the continued development of artificial intelligence, and major investments by technology giants in AI infrastructure. We also covered inflation, interest rate expectations and central bank decisions, as well as developments across European, US and Asian markets.
We also touched on the performance of traditional stores of value, such as gold and bitcoin, and discussed the reasons behind their movements during a period of heightened uncertainty.
The webinar concluded with an overview of the situation on the Slovenian capital market. We reviewed the performance of the SBITOP index, the business results of domestic listed companies, the development of the capital market in Slovenia, and presented expectations and key factors that could shape capital market developments in the second half of 2026.
